Esta ofrenda fue levantada en el contexto del Centro Comunitario de Sherman Heights cuya tradición de ofrendas mortuorias cumplió en 2006 doce años.
This altar honors those who have died in their search for a better life. Following a tradition intermixing humor andritual, this offering aims to be critical of those who diminish the role of immigrants, highlighting the meaningful presence ofwrokers (women in particular). Las muertas quips the headlines long present in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico -Muertas de Juárez-, and brings forth the fact that women of all latitudes undergosimilar tragic ends.
